Dear all, in mailman2 there was a setting that ensured that the archives of newly created lists are by default privat ( DEFAULT_ARCHIVE_PRIVATE = 1 Is there something similar in Mailman3? Johannes

Delete Django profiles not signed up to a list

Hi, I have noticed recently I have around 2000 bogus sign-ups that have created accounts in Django. Looking through the logs these have come from the Postorius sign-up pages. I checked and email confirmation is required before the accounts are created and the email addresses that have been used do seem like they could respond to these requests. I don't want to add captchas to the form right now but is there any way to clean out these users from the database perhaps periodically based on whether the accounts are subscribed to any list? 500 error on Held Messages page

Hello, I searched the list but couldn't find anything specific to the error seeing with held messages for this specific list. See output below from the mailman.log. The problem doesn't seem to be related to the database listarchiver table. mail for lists.ccalternatives.org loops back to myself, then Recipient address rejected

Environment: Debian 10; Postfix 3.4.14; GNU Mailman 3.3.5; Mailman Core API Version 3.1; Mailman Core Python Version 3.7.3 Digging a hole after having simply created a new mailing list. This has not happened before. Steps taken: -Created list via web interface -Added subscribers via web interface -Sent email to listname -Received error bounce: This is the mail system at host zarathustra.ccalternatives.org. I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster. If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message. The mail system <Deepadaptation(a)lists.ccalternatives.org>: mail for lists.ccalternatives.org loops back to myself -Added lists.ccalternatives.org to the mydestination line in /etc/postfix/main.cf and restarted Postfix -Now a new error message: <Deepadaptation(a)lists.ccalternatives.org>: host lists.ccalternatives.org[192.46.218.224] said: 550 5.1.1 <Deepadaptation(a)lists.ccalternatives.org>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table (in reply to RCPT TO command)

bounce_score_threshold control

Hi guys, I have recently started receiving these mails from the system. First it was frighting me out that people's account got disabled, but actually nothing has happened, nobody got disabled. I however looking to figure out how can I control or change settings for this particular mechanism. Please advise me. emailname(a)example.it's subscription has been disabled on listname(a)domain.eu due to their bounce score exceeding the mailing list's bounce_score_threshold. Regards, Tibor

GSOC 2023 mentors

Hi everybody We still have no mentors for GSOC 2023. Last chance to sign up (with the Python Software Foundation org) is Feb 25. - You don't need to be a Mailman core dev or a Python guru. - Generic mail geeks welcome. - Code spelunking (ie, "grepping for error messages") is very desirable. - Some Python, obviously. - Experience using and preferably administering Mailman. - Opinions about existing bugs and new features a must, of course! ;-) Requires a couple hours a week, somewhat irregularly, from secondary mentors (you), more like 5-10 from primary mentor (me, and you if the bus factor comes into play). Anybody interested, let me know. If you have questions about it, please respond on-list so others can see. Steve

Messages not picking up header or footer template

Hi I can't figure out how to get headers or footers on my messages Example: I create a footer in Postorius. The name in the form is '[list:member:regular:footer] - The footer for a regular (non-digest) message.' The data is 'Test Footer' I can see the entry in the database with the uri: http://localhost:8000/mailman3/api/templates/list/testing.comms.sdcvirginia… I can do a wget on that uri and download a copy of the footer, and it looks right But when I send a message to the list and the message is forwarded, the footer isn't on the messages that members receive Looking at mailman.log, I cannot see any attempt to access the footer. I can see connections to the REST API (config, roster/owner, roster/moderator) that correspond to the time I sent the message So what am I doing wrong? Thank you Ben

Error downloading CSV for 1,300 members

Any suggestions on troubleshooting downloading a modest-size CSV file for a list with 1,300 members?
