Hello to all: Trying to install mailman3 for the first time on Debian 12 virtual machine. I tried to search for relevant and related posts, but could not find any. I'm following along the documentation and I get stuck after this step https://docs.list.org/en/latest/install/virtualenv.html#setup-mailman-user I'm finding that there's a problem while trying to edit /etc/mailman3/mailman.cfg The instructions https://docs.list.org/en/latest/install/virtualenv.html#installing-mailman-… do not say what to do with existing file. root@shackleton12:~# ls -alF /etc/mailman3/mailman.cfg -rw-r--r-- 1 root list 11119 Mar 20 11:45 /etc/mailman3/mailman.cfg Should we move the /etc/mailman3/mailman.cfg out of the way and create new file as user and group mailman:mailman ?

Error when sending customized welcome message template

Dear List, As soon as a template "[list:user:notice:welcome]" exists, and at least one email address is provided during mass subscribe, while sending an invitation is disabled and sending a welcome message is enabled, the following error occurs: HTTP Error 400: ('Connection aborted.', ConnectionResetError(104, 'Connection reset by peer')) The new member(s) are added to the mailing list, but the welcome message is not sent. Hello, after switching from mailman2.1 to mailman3 mails with HCL Notes invitations are failing. How to change the showed URL/Domain of archives navbar?

Hello, our first Domain was lists-test.mydomain.de. After this we added our real domain lists.mydomain.de and our migration from mailman2.1 has finished :-) When you go to lists-test.mydomain.de/archives/ in the the navbar only the name of our first test-domain is shown (lists-test.mydomain.de). How can we set the other domain there? I have tried to change the order of our two domains in the settings.py - without success. Our domains are: lists-test.mydomain.de has SITE_ID = 1 lists.mydomain.de has SITE_ID = 2 Thank you and regards, Ulf

CSS Hyperkitty ERROR

Hi, i installed mailman3 with virtualenv, all is working fine, the admin site works fine, the mailman(postorious) site works fine, but when im in hyperkitty the site shows without the css style.. in my web browser dev tool it shows like they loaded ok.. Here you can see what i see when loading hyperkitty https://freeimage.host/i/3n6kXKQ and mailman(postorius) https://freeimage.host/i/mailman.3n6kVix When i run my server with verbosity it shows like all is loading ok: https://freeimage.host/i/3n6SViG Any ideas? :/ My static files are loading from /static/CACHE/css/output.a0f71925131b.css and /static/hyperkitty/libs/fonts/font-awesome/css/font-awesome.min.css It seems like the real error are in the /static/CACHE files, because hyperkitty is the only one who load files from this directory.. postorius uses /static/postorius and all the css files are working fine. I checked permissions for the directory, cleared cache, etc.. i dont know what to do. Postorius Suggestion: Give owner a view of all users of all owned lists

Looking at your description above, for superusers that is basically the Users tab, though. Users are identified by primary address, and you'd not see alternate addresses in the list. But presumably your internal users use their @your.org addresses as primary. Can you make clear what could be more streamlined for your use cases as superuser? I give one example below, maybe that's what you're mostly interested in. The caveats about access to User objects still apply for owners, so even if they look the same (which is a good UX idea if owner functionality is a subset of superuser functionality, also they might even be able to share the basic page templates), the implementation is going to be rather different. I suspect you superusers would be quite frustrated if using the "subscribe all these lists" functionality meant you couldn't get at the User object without going to a different page. I do see one weird thing: you can't manipulate subscription itself from the User page as seen by the superuser from that list, only toggle moderation and delivery mode. I guess that's reasonable for a lot of use cases, though. I've never wanted to do a subscribe or unsubscribe from there. I always have a long list of users to subscribe to specific lists, never a list of lists a specific user should belong to, > The presentation given when above "Subscriptions" Button is clicked > should contain the address as kind of Headline. Find a smtp server to send out emails

Hi, This problem is not caused by mailman, but I still want to give it a shot here. I'm hosting a mailing list on top of mailman3. Emails are supposed to be sent out by AWS ses. However, ses requires that sender address must be verified, which leads to a problem that emails sent by subscribers to mailing list cannot be sent to other subcirbers, since their addresses are not verified. And it is impossible to verified every subscriber. Are there smtp service providers allowing unverified email address to send out emails, or do I have other solutions? Thanks. -- Best wishes, Leon
