Because of my own personal horror stories of waking up to finding high priority linux servers broken, due to nightly automated updates, I now prevent automatic updates on my servers. I only do manual security updates. In addition to implementing modern security techniques for our network. That is just my personal belief system. It's worked for the past 25 years. The only time we ever got hacked, was because of some stupid php scripts that our developers had put online, or because people's passwords had become leaked. And some of those situations were nightmares also. In two case of which, happened while I was away on vacation, and I had to fix everything remotely. But that was never due to updates. I probably shouldn't express my opinion. But I have a lot of empathy for the guy who discovered his mailman broken due to upgraded Python. Which triggered my nightmares. But it's great though to have a very responsive community here, to bring people back from the dead. - Mark

Default Setting for 'Results per Page' and other Web Pull-downs

Hello. For the past several months I've been in the process of migrating from Mailman2 to Mailman3 (along with many other tasks). I've just started to use the web interface heavily as I am finally doing the full migration of all my 2.1 lists. Before I ask my question, I am currently running Debian 10 which supplies mailman-3.2.1 and mailman-web 0+20180916, which are definitely old at this point. Although I will soon move to Debian 11, I am still constrained to stick to Debian packages. So if this has been fixed or enhanced in a future version I'm sorry for asking an old question. My question: when I go to any page that has a list (of lists, of members, or archives), there are pulldowns like 'Results per page' that seem to reset to the minimum number when I refresh the page. There are others like 'Hide inactive' on the Archives page. What I'm looking for is a per-user way to customize these values so I don't have to keep on setting them to the value I prefer. Amazon SES, Message-ID, and mailman

Hi, We are running a mailman 2 mailing list, soon to upgrade to mailman 3. We recently switch the mail gateway from mailgun to Amazon SES. There's a new problem that the mailman 2 archives are not able to group threads together the way they were before. Moreover, end users have their own mail clients that display the list messages, and they are complaining about issues in their local mail clients. It seems to be related to the mail header fields Message-ID: , References: , and In-Reply-To: . Amazon SES rewrites the Message-ID. Therefore, it won't match the original Message-ID, and so the second reply email won't matched with the first email in a web archive display. Additionally, email replies are often sent both to the list and to individual participants, and so it's important that both of these copies have the identical message id. Has anyone else used Amazon SES as a mail gateway, and did you have success with it? Does this interpretation of the problem seem reasonable? Would it make sense to briefly discuss "Amazon SES" in an FAQ section of the mailman documentation? Thanks, Sam

Hello, I would like to set or change the delivery_status of a list member by using the rest api. Postorius install - missing python modules

Hello, On AlmaLinux 8.7, after Configuring Mailman and Setting up my database (postgres), and hooking up my mailserver (Exim), the instructions proceed to Set up Postorius: https://docs.mailman3.org/projects/postorius/en/latest/setup.html I've tried `pip install postorius`, as well as the latest version, cloning and `pip install -e .`. I've tried with multiple python versions, all with the results: ModuleNotFoundError. looking for more detailed traceback for shunted message

Had a message get shunted in /opt/mailman/core/var/queue/shunt/. *** but that is the location in the docker environment, which we are running.
