Dear list, We've encountered an issue with Postorius after migrating from Mailman 2.1. It appears that Postorius is treating email addresses with differing capitalization as distinct user accounts. For example, <markus.grandpre(a)uni-konstanz.de> and <Markus.Grandpre(a)uni-konstanz.de> are being recognized as separate identities. This is causing significant confusion. Users registered with one capitalization pattern are not seeing the list subscriptions and settings that were previously associated with their account (imported from Mailman v2.1) which used a different capitalization. Is there a known configuration option or method within Postorius (or Mailman 3 itself) to normalize or unify account identification, effectively treating email addresses as case-insensitive for account matching? We need a solution that ensures users see their correct list memberships regardless of the capitalization they use when logging in or that was used during the original Mailman 2.1 import. Moderator e-mails only going out once a day

Hi, I have just got done migrating from MM2 to MM3 and the users are experiencing issues with their moderated messages. After the message is sent, the moderator does not know about the message until the next day. I checked the maillogs and all those messages are being sent at the same time around midnight. I also noticed the messages are being sent from user(a)example.com, which I switched in /etc/mailman3/mailman.cfg to a generic e-mail address. Is there a way to change those moderator e-mails to send right away? Does having user(a)example.com in the config affect that? Thank you in advance, Joe

Upgrade docker-mailman to v0.5.2

Hi Abhilash, I checkout the v0.5.2 for testing my upgrade from 0.4.6 and noticed, that the docker-image-version is still set to 0.4 in docker-compose.yaml. Is there any reason for it or should it be set to 0.5? I´m still using my good old mariadb. I did not find any upgrade-informations about breaking-changes. Do you have any experience with migrating from 0.4.6 to 0.5.2 on mariadb? Best regards Chrclaus

makemigrations --merge error after Debian upgrade

Hi, I upgraded my debian version, and since, it seems that I have a problem. I tried `mailman-web migrate` (and `mailman-web collectstatic` etc.) and I get the error message: ``` CommandError: Conflicting migrations detected; multiple leaf nodes in the migration graph: (0010_auto_20220618_2315, 0014_schedule_cluster in django_q; 0014_auto_20220618_2315, 0018_alter_emailtemplate_language in postorius). To fix them run 'python manage.py makemigrations --merge' ``` So I tried `mailman-web makemigrations --merge` that ended with ``` PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/postorius/migrations/0019_merge_20240930_1159.py' ``` There is no such a file in the migration directory. CSS Hyperkitty ERROR

Hi, i installed mailman3 with virtualenv, all is working fine, the admin site works fine, the mailman(postorious) site works fine, but when im in hyperkitty the site shows without the css style.. in my web browser dev tool it shows like they loaded ok.. Here you can see what i see when loading hyperkitty https://freeimage.host/i/3n6kXKQ and mailman(postorius) https://freeimage.host/i/mailman.3n6kVix When i run my server with verbosity it shows like all is loading ok: https://freeimage.host/i/3n6SViG Any ideas? :/ My static files are loading from /static/CACHE/css/output.a0f71925131b.css and /static/hyperkitty/libs/fonts/font-awesome/css/font-awesome.min.css It seems like the real error are in the /static/CACHE files, because hyperkitty is the only one who load files from this directory.. postorius uses /static/postorius and all the css files are working fine. I checked permissions for the directory, cleared cache, etc.. i dont know what to do. Hello to all: I require a Debian 12 VM that supports: - Subversion - Let's Encrypt and required challenges - IMAP server - mailman3 - DKIM server I'm currently running same on a CentOS 7.x VM. So that needs to be retired/migrated sooner rather than later because CentOS is out-of-support. On the Debian 12 VM other services appear to be setup and working. mailman3 is the 2nd last service that I'm standing up. In this moment, I've been able to follow https://docs.list.org/en/latest/install/virtualenv.html and https://docs.list.org/en/latest/config-web.html I have mailman3 and mailmanweb services running successfully. I have not yet been able to integrate mailmanweb into Apache (probably because of the Subversion and Let's Encrypt requirements). But I'm able to access local Postorius instance and configure a superuser and a list with web browser running locally on Debian 12 VM. My list is named ebill. An email was received for the DL, but not distributed. Can you advise how to troubleshoot from here? remove website 'example.com' via django interface or "how to rush jourself off your feet" **Disclaimer: don't try this at home** in believe to replace the display of 'example.com' in the postorius-webinterface i logged into django-interface, under 'website' (very bottom of the left menu) i added my new website and then deleted 'example.com'. Result: i can't access my webinterfaces any more, neither django nor postorius. Questions: 1. Does somebody know about the correct approach to change the displayed url in the postorius-webinterface? 2. does somebody perhaps know how to revert those removal via CLI or other ways? greetings aiz

Dear All, I recently installed Mailman3. I am new to MM3. As per my organization's policy, I need to turn off the version disclosure of Mailman Core, Postorius, and Hyperkitty. Specifically shown in the footer and in the system information page. Please let me know if there are any settings that I can set. I don't want to change any html code for the same. Please guide me in this regard.

Hello to all: Even though I have mailman3-web and mailman3-full packages installed, it feels like everything is working properly up to this point. What is supposed to be the correct outcome of https://docs.list.org/en/latest/install/virtualenv.html#setting-up-a-wsgi-s… ? When I execute the command, uwsgi --ini /etc/mailman3/uwsgi.ini, it hangs without output. (venv) mailman@shackleton12:~$ uwsgi --ini /etc/mailman3/uwsgi.ini [uWSGI] getting INI configuration from /etc/mailman3/uwsgi.ini ^C(venv) mailman@shackleton12:~$ Hmm. Hello to all: Trying to install mailman3 for the first time on Debian 12 virtual machine. I tried to search for relevant and related posts, but could not find any. Hello, after switching from mailman2.1 to mailman3 mails with HCL Notes invitations are failing. How to change the showed URL/Domain of archives navbar?

Hello, our first Domain was lists-test.mydomain.de. After this we added our real domain lists.mydomain.de and our migration from mailman2.1 has finished :-) When you go to lists-test.mydomain.de/archives/ in the the navbar only the name of our first test-domain is shown (lists-test.mydomain.de). How can we set the other domain there? I have tried to change the order of our two domains in the settings.py - without success. Our domains are: lists-test.mydomain.de has SITE_ID = 1 lists.mydomain.de has SITE_ID = 2 Thank you and regards, Ulf

Postorius Suggestion: Give owner a view of all users of all owned lists

Looking at your description above, for superusers that is basically the Users tab, though. Users are identified by primary address, and you'd not see alternate addresses in the list. But presumably your internal users use their @your.org addresses as primary. Can you make clear what could be more streamlined for your use cases as superuser? I give one example below, maybe that's what you're mostly interested in. The caveats about access to User objects still apply for owners, so even if they look the same (which is a good UX idea if owner functionality is a subset of superuser functionality, also they might even be able to share the basic page templates), the implementation is going to be rather different. I suspect you superusers would be quite frustrated if using the "subscribe all these lists" functionality meant you couldn't get at the User object without going to a different page. I do see one weird thing: you can't manipulate subscription itself from the User page as seen by the superuser from that list, only toggle moderation and delivery mode. I guess that's reasonable for a lot of use cases, though. I've never wanted to do a subscribe or unsubscribe from there. You'd want to be careful to make sure address verification is done at most once (for your use case, probably not at all). Find a smtp server to send out emails

Hi, This problem is not caused by mailman, but I still want to give it a shot here. I'm hosting a mailing list on top of mailman3. Emails are supposed to be sent out by AWS ses. However, ses requires that sender address must be verified, which leads to a problem that emails sent by subscribers to mailing list cannot be sent to other subcirbers, since their addresses are not verified. And it is impossible to verified every subscriber. Are there smtp service providers allowing unverified email address to send out emails, or do I have other solutions? Thanks. -- Best wishes, Leon

Help! Duplicate DKIM key

Hi all, I'm having *sudden* issues with our SMTP server (Amazon SES) erroring out while trying to send from our most active Mailman3 mailing list (~1,000 subscribers; modest Mailman3 (v 3.3.3) installation (10+ lists, Ubuntu). Here is the message. We've got several thousand log entries like this now: *554 Transaction failed: Duplicate header 'DKIM-Signature'* Mar 10 08:31:10 mail1 postfix/smtp[217753]: 738B53F15E: to=< brian(a)brianmichaelslaw.com>, relay=xxx.org[44.225.xxx.xx]:587, delay=37, delays=2/35/0.16/0.13, dsn=5.0.0, status=bounced (host said: 554 Transaction failed: Duplicate header 'DKIM-Signature'. (in reply to end of DATA command)) As we don't do any DKIM key signing on the related Postfix machine I've opened up a case with Amazon. However, if there is a troubleshooting I should adopt on this issue with regard to Postfix/Mailman I'd like to know what your recommendations are, or what steps I can follow to better help the vendor ensure that this issue isn't coming from either the Postfix machine or the Mailman machine.
