[MM3-users] WSGI: gunicorn and uwsgi

Using the Ubuntu 19 packages for all the mailman suite, uwsgi is the Python WSGI server included. I have now switched over to a full build from current source from gitlab, following Mark Sapiro's excellent instructions. It would appear that the current code has the use of gunicorn built in. Is gunicorn the preferred way now to run the mailman Django apps? Is it worth spending time converting everything to use uwsgi, or should I go with the flow and use gunicorn? What are the advantages of gunicorn over uwsgi?

I verified this by uncommenting the first (old) print line. Now each address is printed twice (as expected), with the utf8 code in both lines in case of umlauts.

For clarifying. I am currently running GNU Mailman 3.2.1 (La Villa Strangiato) under Debian buster (10). Seems I will have to upgrade to Debian bookworm (12) if I want to stick with the deb package and want complete anonymity to work. That's why Mailman is no more useable for me, because I don't want to change the "From:" header. Probably related: Even without any setting in "Alter Messages", messages with attachment from Gmail are altered, so that DKIM signatures are invalidated: https://lists.mailman3.org/archives/list/mailman-users@mailman3.org/thread/… If anybody wants to fix that, please contact me, I could offer a bounty. Just an idea: you could add to the message object a field like "orig-body", that keeps the unmodified body. -- Peter
