You could except Postorius won't let you set an empty value for a template and deleting a template in Postorius just reverts to using the default - e.g., 'list:member:regular:footer'. So the real issue is what's removing all those headers from the anonymized message. I was mislead by "He said the previous moderation was the list's default which was hold for moderation." which is Mailman 3 terminology. The list does need to be created first, but it should be a new list with no members, owners, etc., not an operational Mailman 3 list. So, it seems that most of the members of the MM 2.1 list were moderated and the list's member_moderation_action was Reject. This one issue of a null byte is arguably not a defective message, but rather an issue of storing a null byte in a database field, so maybe something could be done to `cleanse` that data before storing it. It turns out I didn't need it. Had I looked more closely at the Traceback, I would have realized that the issue is that the list's list:admin:action:post template contains non-ascii. In particular, the character in position 5 is ’ which is a unicode right_single_quote, not an ascii apostrophe. There may be other unicode fancy quotes ad well. You can fix the template to contain only ascii or you can set the character set for English to utf-8 by adding ``` [language.en] charset: utf-8 ``` to mailman.cfg. I think we are very close to going live with a mailman-users(a)mailman3.org list. I am comfortable that between Postorius and mailman shell I can create and configure the list. The HyperKitty issues that were blockers for me have been fixed. The one remaining blocker that I see[1] is that Google login doesn't work. This is reported here <https://gitlab.com/mailman/hyperkitty/issues/73>. Any ideas on that?
