If you installed the mailman-web package from PyPI, the django admin command is bin/mailman-web in your venv, not manage.py. I can't see your screen shots; the connection times out. However, this is not a Mailman issue. The Django web admin interface is part of Django. See <https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/4.2/ref/contrib/admin/> This issue should probably be reported to Debian if it is a Debian package issue, or possibly to Django. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Just to be sure, if you are just repeating the MailingList.objects.all().values_list('name', 'archive_policy') command, you won't be seeing the current value. You have to do either abort() or commit() to flush the previously retrieved data. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. So what it is the "Default > Anti-Spam action"? There is a configuration setting with default [antispam] jump_chain: hold "Default Anti-Spam action" should set the action for that rule to None which means use the configured [antispam]jump_chain: value. However, there is a bug in REST in core that doesn't allow setting `None` so you can't chose that setting anyway. Yes, or even just by sending a post to a list as a nonmember. Everyone who is or has been a member, non-member, owner or moderator of a list has a user and one or more address records in Mailman core. > I do want to apologize for my tone Mark. I was wrong in the way I communicated. Apology accepted. I understand that it can be frustrating to be dependent on something you don't control and that this can sometimes lead to "anomalous" behavior. Here's a take on this that is intended to be humorous, but is actually quite frightening. https://xkcd.com/2347/ -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. There are threads on this in the archives. See https://lists.mailman3.org/archives/list/mailman-users@mailman3.org/message… for example. If you go to https://example.com/mailman3/domains/ you should see the domains you have configured with their SITE_ID shown in the Web Host column. If you set SITE_ID in your Django settings to one if those values, that is the host name that will be displayed. There is usually a default example.com with SITE_ID = 1 even if it doesn't display on the domains view. If you have multiple web hosts you want SITE_ID = 0 to display the host in the http request. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. I don't know how Postfix does the aliasing but for my case it would make sense to get the directories created as soon as possible, not sure if the digest handler would be soon enough or not. The directory is created when the list is created and should always be there if the list is there. The idea behind <https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman/-/issues/699> is only to correct a situation where the directory for a list is absent because it was deleted or the server was restored from a backup that didn't contain it. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. by Mark Sapiro

On 4/17/20 10:23 PM, Andrew Bernard wrote: > Where are the posts stored in the database? What tables? How would on go about exporting them into mbox format for the complete set? It depends on which archiver(s) if any are enabled for the list. For the prototype archiver, messages are archived in Maildir format, <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maildir>, in the directory var/archives/prototype/<list-address>/ For Hyperkitty, messages are stored in the database in the hyperkitty_email table and non-plain text parts are in the hyperkitty_attachment table, but you don't need to know that because in any HyperKitty view, i.e. a message view, a thread view, a threads by month view ot an all threads view, there is a button to download all the messages in that view as a gzipped .mbox file. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Also, this is all changed in HyperKitty 1.3.5 with the addition of optional markdown rendering. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
