Well, that can't be true, I'm running DEBUG = False and Django is certainly trying to provide static files (as you'll see below): I found the issue in the nginx logs (it's connecting to both postorius and hyperkitty via uwsgi), it appears when I'm only viewing Hyperkitty's pages, I'm getting these type of errors (some changes inserted to hide my server details): 2017/11/01 19:22:04 [error] 64082#0: *75 open() "/opt/mailman/postorius/ example_project/static/CACHE/js/4ce1260ef558.js" failed (2: No such file or directory), client: 10.10.44.29, server: blah.blah.blah, request: "GET /static/CACHE/js/4ce1260ef558.js HTTP/1.1", host: "blah.blah.blah", referrer: "https://blah.blah.blah/hyperkitty/hyperkitty/list/ mailinglist(a)domain.com/2017/10/" So it appears Hyperkitty is attempting to load static files from postorius's side instead of it's own (I have postorius running under https://domain.tld and hyperkitty running under https://domain.tld/hyperkitty/ via nginx). If I understand you correctly, after creating a custom template in Postorius or Affinity, both that and the old template were included in delivered posts. I don't understand that. In fact the template files just contain the plain URL. No blanks no angle brackets. I thought there could be a kind of filter in Mailmans mailout processing that cares for line breaks in order to not exceed approx. 75 chars per line? I will do some more testing tomorrow (european time).

Hi, thanks for your response. I realize my question was underspecified. What happened: I changed several defaults in mailman core (e.g. preferred language). However, Postorius (maxking version) initializes the defaults for new lists and overrides the core defaults using a PATCH call on the REST API. With the aid of some gentle AI chatbot, I was able to fix the problem in Postorius, by patching the list.py file to read and apply defauls from the config file (in maxking's version that is setting_local.py). I am talking about Dutch. Here is the code snippet that solved my issue from django.conf import settings as django_settings for key, value in getattr(django_settings, 'DEFAULT_LIST_SETTINGS', {}).items(): list_settings[key] = value list_settings.save() (added in list_new) I added the following 'defaults' in my settings file: DEFAULT_LIST_SETTINGS = { 'preferred_language': 'nl', 'subscription_policy': 'confirm', 'default_member_action': 'defer', 'default_nonmember_action': 'hold', 'reply_goes_to_list': 'point_to_list', 'reply_to_address': '', 'max_message_size': 10240, 'anonymous_list': False, 'dmarc_mitigate_action': 'munge_from', 'collapse_alternatives': False, 'dmarc_mitigate_unconditionally': True, } This way each new list is properly initiated. Postorius fails to show list because of a large message being held

Hi, Recently a member of one of our private lists sent a message with a picture attached. Because of the large message size (23MB) it was put into the moderation queue. But since then postorius fails to open the list's page with this error: Something went wrong Mailman REST API not available. Please start Mailman core.
