Bug - if you change primary email address, you're "semi-subscribed"
Subscribed to the list, sending mails worked. Changed primary email (my company email system adds branding crap that exceeded the 40k limit).
Then mails to list simply vanished.
Sent mail via UI, suddenly get a "welcome to list" and held message says "The message comes from a moderated member".

How did you subscribe to those lists matters. If you subscribed as a "User" in the Mailman system, then changes to your primary address will switch subscriptions to the new address.
If you subscribed via a specific address, then changes to primary address will not change anything.

This is possibly a limitation in current UI that you can't choose which email to use when sending emails. Only the primary one is chosen by default.
I have created an issue1 to track this.
Mailman-users mailing list -- mailman-users@mailman3.org To unsubscribe send an email to mailman-users-leave@mailman3.org https://lists.mailman3.org/mailman3/lists/mailman-users.mailman3.org/

For what it's worth, I subscribed with my work address, sent a couple of posts to the list, then because of the annoying auto-adding of our corporate email branding, I added a new email address, verified it, made it primary and then deleted the old address.

I think there are two issues in this thread. The one we're discussing here is that following the above changes, you received a list welcome message at the new address, but not until you posted from that address. Is that correct?
The other issue you've mentioned is posts via email disappearing. My questions regarding that are:
Have you tried posting via email from this address? Please try replying to this post by email and see if that works.
From what address and when as best as you can recall did you post the messages that disappeared?
