Hello everyone
I am Archie Singh, a Computer Science Engineering student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur. I am elated to announce that I have been selected as a contributor for Google Summer of Code 2026.
I will be implementing Dynamic Sublists into the Mailman 3 Suite this summer.
Mailing lists are essential for broadcasting, but high-traffic lists frequently fill up inboxes with replies to specific topics users might not be interested in. This project transforms this rigid broadcast model into an opt-in thread model.
The goal is to ensure only the root email of a new topic is broadcast to the main mailing list. If the topic diverges into a specific task or discussion, subsequent replies will route strictly to a child list, delivering mail only to users who have explicitly opted in via email commands.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Would an opt-in thread model be useful for specific topics? How do you folks handle email overloads?
I will be updating more on: Blog <https://hashnode.com/@archiesingh>
Thank you
Regards
Archie Singh
