Actually, I did a review of outstanding strings when Abhilash annonced the RC for the current version. That is why I was bit surprised. But then, it may be me and my faint memory. I installed Mm3 from Debian stable distro packages as one of the suggested installations methods in Mm3 docs. It's a bit of dated though I know but it was the easiest and fastest. Mailman Core Version GNU Mailman 3.3.3 (Tom Sawyer) Mailman Core API Version 3.1 Mailman Core Python Version 3.9.2 (default, Feb 28 2021, 17:03:44) [GCC 10.2.1 20210110] So I disabled gatenews cron job. Maybe later I bite the bullet and upgrade to a recent version (either venv or docker haven't decided yet) but will have to learn how to avoid conflicts with already installed deb packages first. So far so good and everything works, have to check changelogs if an upgrade is worth it. Thank you all your help, Mark. Sanyi

Unbeknownst to Prasanth, the affected list had previously been migrated from a different server in 2018 but, for some reason, the mbox file was not copied over - just the pipermail archive directory was. That explains the split between the pipermail archives and the mbox file. Thankfully, the original server still had the older mbox file so we've now been able to import all of the messages into HyperKitty. Apologies for the noise. Regards Philip

Security?? For the passwords, yes. It was frequently reported as a bug, in fact. Mostly the reminders generate requests to know how to shut them off. You're the first in probably a decade who's asked how to turn them on! While in theory we could protect in transit with SMTP over TLS, we can't guarantee end-to-end encryption (eg, if there's a .forward at the subscribed address), and while TLS is widely implemented, it's still not universal. And there's no way to protect unencrypted email from admins at the receiving host. Receiving encrypted email is pretty much not implemented at all, except in some specialized communities. Also, now that passwords (if they're used) are attributes of Users who may have several Addresses and worse, they may have admin privileges. So Mailman 3 passwords are generally higher value than in Mailman 2. I can imagine a use for the list of subscriptions part that a few users might like, but most folks would prefer not to get another regular mailing. Steve
