From pip 25.1.1 help install: -c, --constraint <file> Constrain versions using the given constraints file. This option can be used multiple times. I expect this will be the same format as a requirements file but I've never used it. I expect that this will override any constraints from an "-r requirements.txt" etc, but whether that means it will relax existing constraints I'm not sure. I haven't used it. -- GNU Mailman consultant (installation, migration, customization) Sirius Open Source https://www.siriusopensource.com/ Software systems consulting in Europe, North America, and Japan

[MM3-users] Use WHAT-WG decoding strategy? [was: Another interesting error...]

by Stephen J. Turnbull

Mark Sapiro writes: > > UnicodeDecodeError: 'gb2312' codec can't decode byte 0x87 in position 2: > > illegal multibyte sequence I'm pretty sure 0x87 is reserved by the later GBK standard (implemented as an encoding in GB18030) as a prefix for extensions. This is a common problem with Chinese and Japanese encodings: junky email clients use "traditional" names denoting encodings with smaller repertoires to denote modern encodings. I wonder if we shouldn't just promote all gb* to gb18030 and all Shift JIS to the most recent version, as in the WHAT-WG web encodings standard. If nobody says "that's really stupid", I'll write up a RFE later this week. I think there's already a module on PyPI we can use to implement. Steve

There should be no problem with > a single Django user being subscribed to a list with more than one > role. I for one am uncomfortable having the superuser role being used by an ordinary user account, for several reasons. I'm pretty sure that is what Odhiambo was concerned about. I will have similar concerns about the domain user role when we implement it. The preference for a single email address across roles is harder for me to understand. -- GNU Mailman consultant (installation, migration, customization) Sirius Open Source https://www.siriusopensource.com/ Software systems consulting in Europe, North America, and Japan

My apologies. I did not confirm that what I did already sent you was the message received by the user. The mailing list address is ssan(a)lists.naturalintelligence.us and it seems as though this became an alias for this single user christian(a)sewagesludgeactionnetwork.com . > What I wanted to see was not the message sent to the list, but the message received by the one user from the list.
