Standard "plain" URLs are ok, but I was just now able to replicate some sort of problem. Using the yahoo toolbar, a fully HTML hyperlink with an href and name failed to render in plain text. It resulted in just plain text without appearing as a "link". If you are saying it resulted in the URL being rendered in the text/plain alternative as a text string, that is not what I see. I just composed a message from Yahoo to a non-yahoo address. I created the message in Yahoo's HTML editor. It simply said "Hi mark. Here's a link." after which I pasted today's Google Doodle link. In the resultant message the HTML part rendered as Hi mark. Here's a link. Google Search where "Google Search" was the above link I had pasted and this was also followed by a Google Search graphic which was also the same link. However the text/plain part in its entirety (minus my signature) was > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 > Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > > Hi mark. Here's a link. The future plan would be to set all filtering to NO. All MIME parts delivered. But then, what if a plain-text version is missing somehow. Then the message will contain only the HTML. But if you do that, malicious HTML and missing plain text will be the least of the things to be concerned about. All sorts of malicious malware can be attached to email in other than HTML parts. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Thanks a lot. Maybe I've done a mistake, it doesn.t work. Those GETs are part of normal message processing. As I said, they result from core handlers asking HyperKitty for the URL at which the message will be archived so they can add that URL to the Archived-At: header and maybe to a message header or footer. Presumably the one that keeps repeating is the one message/message-id that is throwing the socket.error and being continuously retried. See below. > >>> listspec = 'test.example.com' > >>> mlist = getUtility(IListManager).get(listspec) > >>> pw = '????????????' > >>> mlist.moderator_password = config.password_context.encrypt(pw) This needs to be mlist.moderator_password = config.password_context.encrypt(pw).encode() to make it bytes. It needs to be bytes because of the way the column is defined in the mailinglist model. It works as a string in the doctests at <https://docs.mailman3.org/projects/mailman/en/latest/src/mailman/rules/docs…> because in those fragments the list object is never saved to a database. The following illustrates all the names defined when mailman shell is invoked interactively. $ mailman shell Welcome to the GNU Mailman shell Use commit() to commit changes. Use abort() to discard changes since the last commit. Exit with ctrl+D does an implicit commit() but exit() does not. >>> dir() ['ALL_TEMPLATES', 'ALT_TEMPLATE_NAMES', 'ALWAYS_REPLY', 'AcceptEvent', 'AcceptOwnerEvent', 'Action', 'AddressAlreadyLinkedError', 'AddressError', 'AddressNotLinkedError', 'AddressVerificationEvent', 'AlreadySubscribedError', 'ArchivePolicy', 'ArchiveRenderingMode', 'BadDomainSpecificationError', 'BounceContext', 'ChainEvent', 'ClobberDate', 'ConfigurationUpdatedEvent', 'ContinueProcessing', 'DMARCMitigateAction', 'DatabaseError', 'DeliveryMode', 'DeliveryStatus', 'DigestFrequency', 'DiscardEvent', 'DiscardMessage', 'DomainCreatedEvent', 'DomainCreatingEvent', 'DomainDeletedEvent', 'DomainDeletingEvent', 'DuplicateStyleError', 'EmailError', 'ExistingAddressError', 'FilterAction', 'FilterType', 'HoldEvent', 'IAPI', 'IAcceptableAlias', 'IAcceptableAliasSet', 'IAddress', 'IArchiver', 'IAutoResponseRecord', 'IAutoResponseSet', 'IBan', 'IBanManager', 'IBounceEvent', 'IBounceProcessor', 'ICLISubCommand', 'ICacheManager', 'IChain', 'IChainIterator', 'IChainLink', 'IConfiguration', 'IContentFilter', 'IDatabase', 'IDatabaseFactory', 'IDomain', 'IDomainManager', 'IEmailCommand', 'IEmailResults', 'IEmailValidator', 'IHandler', 'IHeaderMatch', 'IHeaderMatchList', 'ILanguage', 'ILanguageManager', 'IListArchiver', 'IListArchiverSet', 'IListManager', 'IListRequests', 'IMailTransportAgentAliases', 'IMailTransportAgentDelivery', 'IMailTransportAgentLifecycle', 'IMailingList', 'IMember', 'IMembershipManager', 'IMessage', 'IMessageStore', 'IMutableChain', 'IOneLastDigest', 'IPendable', 'IPended', 'IPendedKeyValue', 'IPendings', 'IPipeline', 'IPlugin', 'IPreferences', 'IRoster', 'IRule', 'IRunner', 'IStyle', 'IStyleManager', 'ISubscriptionManager', 'ISubscriptionService', 'ISwitchboard', 'ITemplate', 'ITemplateLoader', 'ITemplateManager', 'IUser', 'IUserManager', 'IWorkflowState', 'IWorkflowStateManager', 'InvalidConfigurationError', 'InvalidEmailAddressError', 'InvalidListNameError', 'LinkAction', 'ListAlreadyExistsError', 'ListCreatedEvent', 'ListCreatingEvent', 'ListDeletedEvent', 'ListDeletingEvent', 'MailmanError', 'MemberRole', 'MembershipChangeEvent', 'MembershipError', 'MembershipIsBannedError', 'MissingConfigurationFileError', 'MissingPreferredAddressError', 'MissingUserError', 'NewsgroupModeration', 'NoSuchListError', 'NotAMemberError', 'PasswordChangeEvent', 'PendType', 'Personalization', 'RejectEvent', 'RejectMessage', 'ReplyToMunging', 'RequestRecord', 'RequestType', 'Response', 'ResponseAction', 'RunnerCrashEvent', 'RunnerInterrupt', 'SomeRecipientsFailed', 'SubscriptionConfirmationNeededEvent', 'SubscriptionEvent', 'SubscriptionInvitationNeededEvent', 'SubscriptionMode', 'SubscriptionPendingError', 'SubscriptionPolicy', 'TokenOwner', 'TooManyMembersError', 'UnrecognizedBounceDisposition', 'UnsubscriptionConfirmationNeededEvent', 'UnsubscriptionEvent', 'UnverifiedAddressError', '__builtins__', 'abort', 'commit', 'config', 'getUtility', 'm'] -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
