[MM3-users] Re: django-mailman3 update causing errors

So we have pulled all fresh versions of these projects from gitlab as of last Friday: postorius hyperkitty django-mailman3 mailmanclient Django is version 1.11 When we installed, each of these were placed in a conda virtual environment. Postorius, Hyperkitty, and django-mailman3 are all still under a python 2.7 environment. Is that our problem here? The Apple Mail sender used S/MIME signing, not PGP signing. In Thunderbird, I was able to read an S/MIME-signed message the user sent directly to me complaining about the 501 bounce. Thunderbird said the signature was invalid due to the use of an untrusted CA, but I could read the message body. dn

Thanks again Mark, from the bash_history that seems to be the case, while I intended to run it as mailman user.It looks like only the ownership of the subdirectories and files in /var/lib/mailman3/templates are incorrect.Those in /var/lib/mailman3/lists and other directories are correct. I can't find back if I have changed the ownership of these manually. Is it sufficient to change the ownership manually, or is there another change required too? You ran the hyperkitty_import job for these lists as root. I figured it out. It was a stupid mistake on my part, running the ‘mailman create’ commands as root… chown’ing the /var/lib/mailman3/lists directories to lists:lists solved the issues. They are owner notifications, so they were sent to the -owner address and processed through the owner-pipeline, but unless the Debian package changed the default-owner-pipeline, it doesn't contain mime-delete so how they ended up in the `bad` queue is still a mystery.
