The code is doing a POST <https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman-hyperkitty/-/blob/master/mailman_hyperki…>. If in fact HyperKitty is seeing a GET and therefore returning a 405, that explains the above traceback, but I don't know why that would be. You could always try adding additional logging to mailman_hyperkitty/__init__.py to log the entire result, but I suspect the issue is that there is a redirect somewhere in the path from the configured HyperKitty base_url (see mailman_hyperkitty.cfg) and the actual HyperKitty API that is redirecting the POST to a GET and also dropping the POST data. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Mailman does support HTML email. Just adjust content filtering to not remove HTML and not collapse alternatives. What Mailman does not support (and which I think is what you want) is the addition of headers and footers either as text/html parts or inserted into text/html message bodies. The former would be fairly easy. Look at mailman/handlers/decorate.py. On the other hand, if what you want is to insert headers and footers at the beginning and end of an existing HTML body part, We will not make Mailman do that because it is very difficult to do it right. This is because just prepending or appending some additional HTML to an existing HTML part gives unpredictable results. You need to actually parse or render the existing HTML to determine how to add your additions and in complex cases even that may not render as you wish in all various MUA renderings. When the same user/address has both non-member and owner roles, setting moderation for the non-member in Postorius actually sets moderation for the owner which is meaningless because the owner role is never checked for moderation. In mailman 2.1, a list was identified by its name only without the domain and those names had to be globally unique. A site could be configured to support multiple virtual hosts and a list had a host_name attribute which could be changed if desired to assign the list to a different virtual host, but there couldn't be two lists with the same name even if they had different host names. Mailman 3 is different. In order to remove the restriction that list names (without the domain) had to be globally unique, in MM 3 the domain is part of the list name. I.e., we can now have list(a)example.com and list(a)example.net as two distinct lists in the same installation. Suppose we want to rename list(a)example.com to list(a)example.net. This becomes involved in Mailman 3 because it affects not only Mailman core, but also mail delivery and archiving. Furthermore, the list with fqdn_listname list(a)example.com has the list_id list.example.com. If we change the fqdn_listname to list(a)example.net, the list_id should remain list.example.com per RFC 2919 Sec. 4. <https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc2919>. We can just change the list's mail_host attribute via REST <https://docs.mailman3.org/projects/mailman/en/latest/src/mailman/rest/docs/…> or via a database query, but this leads to confusion. I.e., a URL like https://example.com/mailman3/lists/list.example.com/ will still work but https://example.com/mailman3/lists/list@example.com/. To avoid this, we could also change the list_id, but we can't do that via REST as it's a read-only property, and changing the list_id says this is really a new list, not the same list with a new name. There really isn't one as HyperKitty is intended to archive Mailman lists, however, it is possible to have a list in HyperKitty without a corresponding Mailman list. Thus, in your case you could just remove the Mailman 3 list you created and leave the HyperKitty list. Then you have an issue with posts, so you can keep sending the posts to be archived to the prior list address, but arrange for the incoming MTA to pipe mail to that address to a process. That process would do the following. Add a Unix From_ line at the beginning of the message and write the result to a temp file. Invoke a command like django-admin hyperkitty_import --no-sync-mailman --since 1990-01-01 \ -l list(a)example.com /path/to/the/tempfile where list(a)example.com is the actual HyperKitty list. This will archive the message. The addition of a Unix From_ line is to make the message file look like a mbox. Since there is no Mailman list, attempts to post or reply directly from HyperKitty will fail, although such attempts using email software will probably succeed in archiving the mail, and mail directly to that list address will be archived, but such messages won't go to the remote list. Thanks Mark Sapiro, now I got the "Moderation Action" set correct for the real users. BUT, I'm sorry to say that I'm still confused regarding how to add the "non-member" user ("no-reply(a)abc.com") - can you please guide some more here also? ;-) The whole idea (the Use Case) here is that we want our list to be an "announcement" list that will send announcement and the subscribers should not be able to send announcements themself - and usually the "announcements" are sent out with an e-mail address (i.e "no-reply(a)abc.com") that I just "dress" with a "special" name and "no-reply" address.. ;-)
