What's in your postfix mail.log or whatever it's called? What's in the relay host's log? What happens to the mail? You say the fields "Header-From", "Recipient" and "subject" are empty, but I don't know what this means. The relevant SMTP commands are MAIL FROM, RCPT TO and DATA. Any RFC 5122 headers such as Subject: are included in the message passed as DATA. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. I don't know what mailman-web version 4.2.21 is. Is this some downstream package? These are nonmembers whose moderation action is accept or defer. If your Postorius is >= 1.3.6, and the number of nonmembers is manageable you can just view the nonmembers list in Postorius and see their moderation action. Otherwise a `mailman shell` interaction like ``` $ mailman shell -l list.example.com Welcome to the GNU Mailman shell Use commit() to commit changes. Use abort() to discard changes since the last commit. Exit with ctrl+D does an implicit commit() but exit() does not. The variable 'm' is the list.example.com mailing list >>> for nm in m.nonmembers.members: ... if nm.moderation_action in (Action.accept, Action.defer): ... print(f'{nm} {nm.moderation_action}') ... >>> ``` will print those nonmembers with Action.accept or Action.defer. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Phishing/Spam should never be "rejected" for backscatter reasons. Reject should only be used for somehow inappropriate posts from known people. > Is this expected behavior? That will work and is probably what you want anyway. Your own posts will also be held, but you can just accept them. Alternatively, you could set your own Moderation setting to Accept or Default Processing so your posts won't be held, but don't do that as it allows anyone to post by spoofing your address in From:, Sender: or Reply-To: or the envelope sender. The best way to post without the post being held is pre-approval with an Approved: <password> header, where <password> is the list's moderator_password, but you can't set that in postorius so it won't work for you. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. How could I fix that? That's because domain owner in a Mailman thing and involvs the Mailman user. You could delete the Django users via the Django admin UI and then re-register them via Postorius. That *might* work. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

Here are some examples: To add a single user curl -urestadmin:restpass \ --request POST \ -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \ --data-binary '{"list_id": "list.example.com", "subscriber": "user(a)example.net", "display_name": "Joe User", "pre_verified": true, "pre_confirmed": true, "pre_approved": true}' \ http://localhost:8001/3.1/members Response is empty or a JSON object describing the error. To delete a single user: curl -urestadmin:restpass \ --request DELETE \ http://localhost:8001/3.1/lists/list.example.com/member/user@example.net Response as above To delete a list of users: curl -urestadmin:restpass \ --request DELETE \ -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \ --data-binary '{"emails": ["user(a)example.net","other(a)example.org"]}' \ http://localhost:8001/3.1/lists/list.example.com/roster/member Response is a JSON object similar to {"user(a)example.net": true, "other(a)example.org": false, "http_etag": "\"...\""} where success or failure is indicated by a true or false value for each address or a JSON object describing the error if any. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. It is the MTA at mail.example.coop that is reporting the bounce of some message from the techque(a)example.org list. The log messages you see are Mailman's receipt of the bounce DSN. Bounce DSNs are always sent with a null envelope sender so if they are undeliverable, it doesn't result in another bounce.
