It's no guarantee that things will be addressed immediately, but they are there, and merge/pull requests are always welcome. As far as your question goes, Mailman Core, Postorius and HyperKitty are separate entities and they were mostly developed by separate people/groups and some important players have either overtly or implicitly retired from the project. That said, Abhilash is currently the lead developer for all of Mailman 3 and he's doing a great job. I and a few others are also involved (I'd be more involved if I didn't have Mailman 2.1 to distract me), but we are a small group and things take time. Then there were issues because I'm running django 1.9 only and that's not compatible with django_haystack 2.4.1, so I upgraded that to 2.5.dev0 from GitHub, but that now has a compatibility issue with HyperKitty which I have worked around. As you can see this is not a clean process. If I were starting over with what I've learned, I'd probably let bundler install it all in venvs and then upgrade the venvs to the git master branches. The various message catalogs for Mailman core are in mailman/messages/ and those for hyperkitty, django-mailman3 and postorius are respectively in hyperkitty/locale/, django-mailman3/locale/ and postorius/locale/. The translations from weblate are incorporated in the distribution, but depending on how Mailman is installed, may be out of date. To set language for Django (i.e. hyperkitty and postorius) see <https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.0/topics/i18n/translation/#how-django-d…>. For Mailman core, set `[mailman] default_language:` in mailman.cfg. You also need to (re)generate the .mo file which can be done with the generate_mo.sh script. If you just want Mailman Core and given that you've already cloned it from gitlab, I suggest creating a Python virtual environment as the mailman3 user with `python3 -m venv /path/to/your/venv` and then as the mailman3 user activate the venv, `source /path/to/your/venv/bin/activate`, and do `pip install /home/mailman3/mailman` to install Mailman and it's dependencies in the venv. Then you can just run `mailman info`. I suggest a venv for this to isolate the dependencies from things that might already be installed system wide with differing versions. It has to do with the fact that the display names are RFC 2047 encoded and not the particular encoding. Actually, the fix at https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman/-/merge_requests/841 depends on https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman/-/merge_requests/652 which was released in Mailman 3.3.2.
