[MM3-users] Re: MM attaches mime-attachments to mail as text file since update to 3.3.8

Outlook does show the > attachments as attachments. So Filter content is NO so Mailman isn't doing any content filtering. All it is doing is adding headers and footers if any, and if the original message is other than a single text/plain part, these will be added as separate MIME text/plain parts. For a discussion on why this is done, see https://wiki.list.org/x/4030707 which is written for MM 2.1, but which applies at least generally to MM 3. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. These are exposed in Postorius -> Settings -> Bounce Processing. They are: Notify owner on bounce increment - sends a notice to the owner including the DSN when a user's bounce score is incremented, but to a value less than the bounce threshold. Notify owner on disable - sends a notice to the owner including the DSN when a member's subscription is automatically disabled due to the bounce threshold being reached. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. WOOP! WOOP! Dreamhost's Mailman is 2.1 and the appropriate list for Mailman 2.1 is mailman-users(a)python.org <https://mail.python.org/mailman3/lists/mailman-users.python.org/>. Had you posted there in the first place, I would have known you were dealing with Mailman 2.1 and I would have been able to answer with Mailman 2.1 information. In any case, it seems you've worked it out so that's good. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

See https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman/-/blob/master/src/mailman/interfaces/mai… There's really not any logging that would help with this unless there were some exception involved, but that would shunt the message, not deliver it. I hope this one does. I wonder why the original did not. This one was properly threaded. I too noticed that the thread was split, but I didn't examine the headers of the reply as I received it, so I can't say why, but threading is done by In-Reply-To: headers. Possibly the header in the reply was missing or didn't reference the Message-ID: of the original. All I can say is the database has an empty in_reply_to value for the message at https://lists.mailman3.org/archives/list/mailman-users@mailman3.org/message… In any case I have joined the split thread. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. There are no 'X-Mailman' headers which might be exchange removing all 'X-' headers other than its own, but while there are some 'List-' headers, there is no 'List-Id:' header which Mailman always adds. Can you try to get an example message from the list that was sent to a non-outlook/exchange user. Perhaps you could subscribe a gmail or other non-microsoft managed address to the list. I note the MX for your email domain is ku-dk.mail.protection.outlook.com, so that probably won't do. However, one thing to check is the list's Header filters settings. Is there a filter there that could match the owner's email with action accept? -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
