I'm really not sure what you are looking to do, but I can tell you that while the max_days_to_hold list attribute exists and can be set, the actual discarding of held messages older than max_days_to_hold is not implemented. Thus the setting currently does nothing. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

I'm interested in what's before that in the log. I.e., the message that says HyperKitty failure on <the url>: <the returned data> (<the http status>) Or, is there some redirect in your web server that is maybe redirecting `http` to `https` and returning some `3xx` status? We really need to see the status from the above message. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

What are the Web Host entries for these? You should have two separate site entries in the django_site table (https://example.com/admin/sites/site/) for these domains. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. You don't want to use print statements. All those modules do logging to various logs so they pretty much all import logging. Then you add something like ``` dlog = logging.getLogger('mailman.debug') ``` near the beginning of the module and then add things like ``` dlog.info(msg.as_bytes()) ``` to write the message to debug.log. However, I would not proceed in that way. I would start by putting the raw problem message as it comes to mailman in a file and then use `mailman shell` do to things like ``` >>> import email >>> import smtplib >>> from mailman.email.message import Message >>> with open('path/to/message/file', 'rb') as fp: ... msg = email.message_from_binary_file(fp, Message) ... >>> ``` to create the message object, and then do something like ``` >>> conn = smtplib.SMTP() >>> conn.sendmail(from_addr, to_addrs, msg) ``` to send the message to to_address and see if it has the added lines. Or maybe just ``` >>> print(msg.as_bytes()) ``` to see if that has the added lines. It may be necessary to do things like ``` >>> msg['Message-ID-Hash'] = 'aaaaa' ``` to add a header to create the issue. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. I know nothing about Docker containers and how they communicate with each other, but Postfix is trying to deliver mail via lmtp to [172.19.199.2]:8024. Mailman's lmtp runner should be running and listening on port 8024. Either that is not the case or that port is not exposed to Postfix on IP 172.19.199.2. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. I does not appear to be memory, though. The server is slow to respond (could be because it's overseas) and then after some time we get intermittent gateway errors and finally we cannot access the lists online because of the gateway errors. It appears to me that the issue is with Postorius, but I could be wrong. Do files get closed after opening? Are we alone having such issues? We are not seeing an issue like this on either lists.mailman3.org (this list) or mail.python.org (at the moment 118 @python.org Mailman 3 lists) What are you seeing in web server logs? -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Anonymous lists should be removing any X-MailFrom: or X-Envelope-From: headers from delivered mail. The envelope-from in the outgoing mail should be the list-bounces address, not the original sender. If you are seeing this information in mail from an anonymous list, it is a bug and I would like to see a raw message as received from the list with this information. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. It looks like all the logged errors result from an attempt to export a thread from HyperKitty. Is it this export that precipitates the issue? I.e, can you access Postorius first thing after a clean start of mailman web? If so, is it only when you try to export a thread from HyperKitty that the issues start? -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
