Actually a better place to look in the db is select list_name from mailinglists; or in the file system ls -l /opt/mailman/mm/var/lists How did you attempt to create it? If in `mailman shell` did you `commit()`. The easiest way to create it is `mailman create my_list(a)my.domain` You don't need to specify any options as everything will be imported by `mailman import21` -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Mailman 3 has more runner processes than Mailman 2.1 and they are larger. That is the difference in what you are seeing, but in neither case does this indicate an issue. Much if the memory footprint you see is idle memory that is only used because no other process needs it. For more detail on this and info about tools you can use to see if you really have a memory issue, see <https://wiki.list.org/x/4030711>. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Not currently in Mailman 3. At least not easily. I suppose you could just create the new lists, e.g. with something like: #! /bin/bash for list in `cat lists`; do bin/mailman create $list done and then run database queries to update the mailinglist table entries for the new lists. It would not be difficult to create a clonelist mailman subcommand to clone a list in this way, but it doesn't currently exist. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Ideas..? No. Restarting Mailman core won't help with this. I don't know what's involved in restarting mailman3-web, but I think that restarting it and uwsgi should be enough and a new settings_local.pyc would be created the next time a django process is invoked (e.g., by visiting a Postorius or HyperKitty web page). If this isn't happening, I don't know why. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

If you rerun hyperkitty_import with the since= option set to a date earlier that the oldest message to import, it should just work. Messages which are already in the archive (by Message-ID:) will be ignored by the import process. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. I'm fine with either option, but I've spent about an hour digging through source code and docs and I'm not finding it. Would someonebe so kind as to point out how I can inspect configuration on a list by list basis? TIA. There is no specific `mailman` command (other than `mailman shell`) to display list settings. However I just created a simple script at https://www.msapiro.net/scripts/list_attributes which will list all the attributes of a given list. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. It is not necessary to post the entire log which repeats the same ERROR and traceback over 300 times. The errors all seem to be disallowed hosts. 321 from IP 45.79.102.219, 5 from mail01.datsemultimedia.com and a few others. The PTR from IP 45.79.102.219 is mail01.datsemultimedia.com and its A is 45.79.102.219. Is this your server, if so add both 45.79.102.219 and mail01.datsemultimedia.com to ALLOWED_HOSTS. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Yes, escaping the hyphen is the correct thing to do. You could also try something like ``` grep -r '.-jango' /opt/mailman/venv/lib/python3.9/site-packages/ ``` but that will also return nothing. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/67613777/pip-ignoring-invalid-distribut… https://stackoverflow.com/questions/68880743/why-do-i-get-this-when-using-p… and perhaps other hits from https://www.google.com/search?q=pip+warning+ignoring+invalid+distribution Look for ``` ls -la /opt/mailman/venv/lib/python3.9/site-packages/~jango* ``` i.e. `~jango` rather than `-jango` -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
