(in mysql?) In Postorius, find the nonmember in the Users->Non-Members list. Does that nonmember have a moderation action of discard. We haven't really studied it's effectiveness. It seems to help somewhat, but it also seems that bots may already have a template to POST so removing it from the UI is not a complete solution. Thanks. In Postorius go to the Templates tab for the list, click New Template, then in the Name dropdown select [list:member:regular:footer], leave the Data box empty and Save. Did you upgrade from a Python 2.7 version of HyperKitty to a Python 3 version? The Haystack/Whoosh search engine databases are not compatible between the two and "A string literal cannot contain NUL (0x00) characters." is the symptom.
