[MM3-users] Re: Python is updated

The first issue arises because the venv/bin/ directory contains only symlinks to a system python3, and either they broke upon the upgrade or they pointed to what is now Python 3.11 and there was some incompatibility between that python and modules in the venv. Did you install psycopg2-binary as discussed at https://docs.mailman3.org/en/latest/install/virtualenv.html#installing-mail… Is the error logged in var/logs/mailman.log? If so, what's the traceback? -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

You now should have ALIAS /static/ /home/pocovobe/webserver/static/ in your web server config (or whatever the equivalent directive is for your web server if not apache. and you should run the django admin commands `collectstatic --clear --noinput` `compress` and if they haven't been run recently `compilemessages` `migrate` -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. I expect to NOT find anything listed as nonmembers. That's expected. That script does not remove anything for a user that has any list memberships with any role. It could be modified to remove the Django and Mailman users whose only memberships are with role nonmember. That modification is left as an exercise for the reader. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

I really would like to see one of these bounce messages, however from the OP, forward_unrecognized_bounces_to won't do it as the bounce was somehow recognized as a DSN albeit with strange addresses resulting in the Bounce message for a non subscriber log messages. I'm guessing, but I think maybe some spam was sent to the list-bounces address and it contained something matching one of the heuristic recognizers <https://gitlab.com/warsaw/flufl.bounce/-/tree/master/flufl/bounce/_detectors>. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. A reply which quotes some or all of another message contains that quoted text as opposed to some reference to the text in the original message. Thus, editing the text in the original message has no effect on quoted text in the reply. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. However, I now suspect the issue is somewhat different. If you use transport_maps on the remote MTA to relay the list mail to port 8024 on the Mailman server, Mailman's LMTP runner will receive the mail and you don't need a local MTA. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. [MM3-users] Re: Clearing webserver cache - Nginx

by Mark Sapiro

On 8/6/24 14:27, Mark Sapiro wrote: > > Is this with only one browser? It's a long shot, but clearing browser > cache might work. Actually, I see the same issues from my browsers, so it's not a browser caching issue. The only thing left is nginx caching, but, while I know very little about nginx, I think it doesn't cache by default and I don't see where in your posted config it's enabled. Perhaps there's more in your config that you didn't post. If there is a proxy_cache_path directive in your config try find /the/proxy/cache/path -type f -delete to clear the cache. As a last resort, your /opt/mailman/mm/static/CACHE/ directory should contain a css/ directory with 3 files and a js directory containing one file and a manifest.json file with a template for the `link` directives referencing those files. The js/ directory is easy as its only one file, so your server is looking for /static/CACHE/js/output.3aaa7705d68a.js and you could create a symlink in the js/ directory from output.3aaa7705d68a.js to the actual file. For the css directory, your server is looking for output.158acc288604.css and output.6dab123e4897.css, and I don't see the third file in the logs you posted, but if I go to pages in your archive that I see as unstyled and look at the stylesheet references, they are to output.44ea6c55e917.css, output.e68c4908b3de.css and output.9efeb5f3d52b.css so you could just symlink those to the actual files, it doesn't matter which as all three are loaded on each page. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
