If so, how do I do that? This appears to be an issue with psycopg2 itself. What happens if you activate your venv and do python -c 'import psycopg2' -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. You could probably modify code to do that. For Postorius, the mods would probably be in the ListSummaryView class in postorius/views/list.py. It seems to me that in the general case, this would not be desirable as it would prevent things like a user being told out of band that they should go to, e.g., https://www.example.com/mailman3/lists/unadvertized.example.com/ and subscribe. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. As the list owner go to Users->Members in Postorius and click the address you posted from. Scroll to the bottom of the page. I'm puzzled why it even asks for a "List style" in the first > place. The difference between an ordinary discussion style and an announce only style is the list attribute allow_list_posts is set False rather than True. This only controls whether or not the List-Post: header in outgoing mail contains the list's posting address or the word NO. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. When I try to access the archives of a mailing list named 'test-nov' it redirects me to 'example.com/hyperkitty/list/test-nov@example.com/', where a 404 appears and a 'No archived mailing-list by that name.' message is thrown by hyperkitty.views.mlist.overview. Are you running the Django periodic tasks? See <http://docs.mailman3.org/en/latest/config-web.html#scheduled-tasks-required>, In particular, I think the hourly "new_lists_from_mailman" job is what you need. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. It works for me. I suspect in your case it has something to do with how ngnix is set up to forward to Django. What are your nginx settings for this? -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

(see what I did there?) The REST API is only accessible locally by default. It is certainly possible to configure the webservice section of mailman.cfg to be able to access it remotely - if you do this, be sure not to use the default admin_pass. There is also an authenticating REST proxy project called lemme (possibly abandoned) at <https://gitlab.com/mailman/lemme>. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. On 9/22/21 12:13 PM, Andreas Barth wrote: > > Does that mean, not having an user name would work for mailman? Core understands users and addresses and both users and addresses have an associated display_name which can be any string or None, but this display_name is only text and is not required. Django also has a concept of user and one can log in to Django either by address or user, but only the address relates to Mailman core. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. The message occurs because systemd checks before the master has created. That's why there is a (yet?) in the message. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Dylan

Thanks for the hint Steve. There is a Spanish message catalog as evidenced by the fact that the reason was translated to Spanish, but the issue is almost certainly that there is no mailman/templates/es/list:user:notice:post.txt template so we fall back to the one for the list's language. Note that prior to Mailman 3.3.5rc1 there are lots of missing templates and in particular, the 3.3.4 Spanish templates were incorrectly named with `_` rather than `:` in the names. Templates are actually translated in the message catalogs via weblate, but these translations weren't installed in the appropriate templates/ directory. There is now a script at https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman/-/blob/master/update_lang_templates.py to do this. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. [MM3-users] Re: Moving mm2 mail archives to mm3

by Mark Sapiro

On 07/20/2017 01:20 PM, Tom Browder wrote: > Is there any way to move my old mm2 archives to mm3? Yes. Once you have HyperKitty and Mailman 3 installed, you use the 'django-admin hyperkitty_import' command to import, e.g., the MM 2 archives/private/LISTNAME.mbox/LISTNAME.mbox file to HyperKitty. See 'django-admin hyperkitty_import --help' for more info. Note that if there are already posts archived on the MM 3 list, you will need the '--since DATE' option with an early date because the default is to not import anything older than the most recent post in the current archive. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B.
