That's correct. I recommend running these Django commands after upgrading collectstatic --clear compress compilemessages migrate -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Create the necessary SELinux rules to allow `mailman` to access what it needs to. I don't know if anyone on this list can help you with that. Note that if `mailman` is currently a `normal user` as opposed to a `system user` making it a system user might help. Thank you for providing this documentation. With your permission, I would like to add this to the wiki at https://wiki.list.org/DOC/5%20Downloading%20and%20installing%20Mailman. What does ``` ls -la /opt/mailman/venv/lib/python3.9/site-packages/-jango* ``` show? I suspect you have some spurious stuff there. The timestamps might give a clue as to how it got there. If it shows anything, ``` rm -rf /opt/mailman/venv/lib/python3.9/site-packages/-jango* ``` will probably fix it. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. Any idea on how I can remove the mail capabilities and leave the rest? You can remove the list and keep the archives. The `mailman remove` command will remove the list and leave the HyperKitty or other archive intact. However, if the HyperKitty archive is not public, it will not be accessible to anyone but superusers without the list. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. by Mark Sapiro

On 11/9/24 12:24, Ron / BCLUG wrote: > > Hopefully I've assigned the blame to Postorius accurately and no > formatting nor archiving issues make the issue difficult to understand. This is a HyperKitty issue. Postorius has nothing to do with archiving. Also, it depends on the archive rendering mode and only occurs if the mode is Markdown text rather than Plain text. It is really `mistune`, <https://mistune.lepture.com/en/latest/index.html>, which is doing the markdown rendering and which `escapes` HTML tags. -- Mark Sapiro <mark(a)msapiro.net> The highway is for gamblers, San Francisco Bay Area, California better use your sense - B. The most common cause of this is an uncaught exception thrown in Mailman core. > No errors show in logs. That's strange. There should be something. If it's a core error, it should be logged in /opt/mailman/mm/var/logs/mailman.log. Also, there is a Django log, probably at opt/mailman/web/logs/mailmanweb.log. Have you looked at those?
