But it's of no help to a list-owner who wants to create a custom template, because they have to use Postorius. So, I'm thinking (in broad brush strokes) that if I'm stuck with this "http glitch" I could write a script to: 1. extract the text of the custom message from the database, 2. write that message text to a file 3. update the templates.uri entries to replace the http://localhost... with file:///path/to/file 4. cron the script to run every few minutes. It screams of utter clunk I know...

I don't think that's the issue here, but the venv should be active when you run the Django-admin commands. Looking more closely at the error, I see it says ``` File "/opt/mailman/mm/venv/lib/python3.6/site-packages/compressor/base.py", line 282, in precompile mod = import_module(mod_name) ... ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'sass -t compressed {infile} {outfile}' ``` Thus it appears that compressor is trying to import 'sass -t compressed {infile} {outfile}' as a module instead of executing it as a command. What version of compressor is this? My debian python libraries are now a patchwork quilt to fix issues like https://gitlab.com/mailman/hyperkitty/-/issues/322, which included modifying one patch from alex silva. xapian is a hell of a lot faster - < 1s as opposed to ~6m 30s with whoosh for the "minute" cron job on my site. -- Alex

Question: What happens if I delete a user from all lists and that user is sole owner of some list?

Hi, One of the great things about our new installation compared with our old is the ability to manage users via https://our.wee.domain/postorius/users I might have been able to manage them using the command line on the old installation, but there is no 'mailman delmembers' on that box. Since I now have this Mighty Power, I want to use it to clean up. There are many users who should no longer be on the system, so I want to run something along the lines of: mailman delmembers --member some(a)email.address --fromall \ --no-goodbye-msg --no-admin-notify or, if I'm feeling brave, something like this. mailman delmembers --file somefile --fromall \ --no-goodbye-msg --no-admin-notify My question is: If one of these users is the sole owner of a list, what will happen? Will the user be deleted and that list now owner-less? Will mailman refuse to delete that user until I add a new owner? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Cheers, David

What we do is run a cronjob that purges all unverified accounts once per day. So problem solved for us.
