I have no good idea why the result changes if you do it twice.[1] In Apache, this is likely in a file in /etc/apache2/sites-available/. In nginx, similarly /etc/nginx/sites-available/. The file's name is likely to be either something like "debian-default.conf" or "mailman3.conf" for either of those popular webservers. Out there plugin idea for tech cost sponsorship

Mailman 3 allows you to provide custom templates for both Postorius (how new subscribers sign up by web) and for various emails. It would be easy to provide custom templates for each list for your purpose, for example if all users get the same "coupon code", or get a random code. There isn't really an opportunity for a "plug in" here, though, because presumably you really want carefully designed templates for *your* business (or NPO), and probably with some attention paid to the group your business is affiliated with. Once you have the template, and maybe a little custom code, you're done, nothing left for the "plug in" to do. If you're thinking of something more dynamic, eg, checking profiles of existing Mailman users who sign up for new subscriptions, again, I don't see an opportunity for plugins, because Mailman's current profiles are not going to support personalized rewards. Stock Mailman only does direct mail for the email verification dance and subscription welcome messages. You could easily use the latter for this one event of subscription. But Mailman doesn't know anything about "volunteer signups" or "event registration", etc, and teaching it to do that part is likely to be painful and make maintenance of the software difficult. My recommendation would be to use a separate application to manage the rewards system, and add only a couple of additional rules or handlers to trigger rewards (by messaging the rewards manager) on specific events that Mailman tracks anyway. To me the implication is once you have created an account, you have to come back, log in and subscribe. mm3 floods syslog

Dear friends, I got another problem: mailman floods my syslog. I deleted a domain/webdomain (further mentioned as deleted.org) in postorius, django web. No entries are now in /var/lib/mailman3/data/postfix_domains or postfix_lmtp or /var/lib/mailman3/lists. Here an extract of my syslog (anonymized): Oct 31 10:49:02 myserver mailman3[1284]: Oct 31 10:49:02 2021 (1284) Certificate did not match expected hostname: localhost. Kind regards I don't know why this fails like that, particularly since the same thing works for migrate, collectstatic and compress. The only thing I can think of is you may need to cd to the directory containing django/ django_mailman3/ postorius/ and /hyperkitty before doing the above. This may be something like /usr/lib/python3.x/site-packages. Its an interesting question, my understanding on this is that Mailman Core and Hyperkitty are separate projects and so if you are building a replacement to Hyperkitty you would need to deal with how messages get posted to it (currently Mailman sends messages to Hyperkitty when they get posted) and also how archives can be imported. I may be wrong on this but if you were creating a new archiver you would need to factor this in, you also would have the choice to use the current schema that Hyperkitty uses or your own database schema elsewhere. If you use the Hyperkitty schema I guess you could continue to use it's import process, but that may limit your design decisions for the software you are writing. Andrew.
