what process creates webui tables (mailmanweb db)?

hello again, running a venv installation i think the tables in 2 databases (mailman/mailmanweb) were initially created by running mailman-web migrate - this wrapper is not available in a package install - so i think i need to run something like this after editing my settings.py file python3 manage.py migrate Operations to perform: Apply all migrations: account, admin, auth, contenttypes, django_mailman3, django_q, hyperkitty, postorius, sessions, sites, socialaccount Running migrations: No migrations to apply. Your models have changes that are not yet reflected in a migration, and so won't be applied. Run 'manage.py makemigrations' to make new migrations, and then re-run 'manage.py migrate' to apply them. i do see tables in the mailman db but mailmanweb is empty - is there a different flag i need to run to seed the mailmanweb db? It is merely a set of settings that are applied to your SHELL when you are in the virtual environment. It is not supposed to be always active, only when you actually want to run commands in that virtual environment. Re: Message Sent to A Re-Created List Results In Error

I checked all over the mailman core logs and couldn't find a problem. But then I noticed that the 550 error was coming from dovecot-lmtp. I should rename this thread because the actual problem seems to be unrelated to re-created lists. It seems like the actual problem seems to occur in the following situation: * Using Postfix * Using Dovecot * /etc/postfix/virtual includes addresses with same domain as mailman lists. * An e-mail address subscribed to a mailman list is in the /etc/postfix/virtual file as an alias (possibly also if destination address for an alias). * (Possibly related) E-mail address is also one of the list owners. In that environment, Postfix seems to check only 'virtual_transport' list, which in my case is dovecot-lmtp, and when it doesn't find the mailman listname@domain entry in there, it sends a 550 user unknown. It seems to be that it isn't getting passed to 'transport_maps', which is mailman-lmtp. When I remove that one address (that is in /etc/postfix/virtual) from the list of subscribers, I'm able to post again. Interestingly enough, when I put it back in as a subscriber. I'm still able to post. So it seems unsubscribing and re-subscribing that address fixed it, or adding an additional list owner and deleting it fixed it, or some combination of those. I know this might be shaping up to be a very unlikely scenario. But basically the account is mine, an admin, doing testing before/after a deployment.. I'll try to create a few test procedures to document the method to reproduce the problem, and also hopefully fix it. If I can do that, I'll open another thread. This could also be a postfix config error of some kind, which is definitely possible if not likely. Mailman3 via Docker and NGINX

I have Mailman3 installed on CentOS 7 using maxking's docker image. I believe the installation went fine and running "curl http://172.19.199.3:8000/postorius/lists/" produces the correct output. I also will be using exim and nginx with this installation. It seems I am stuck with the nginx setup. I created a sitename.com.conf file in the /etc/nginx/conf.d folder. I have the following inputted there: server { listen 80; server_name `sitename.com`; location /static/ { alias /opt/mailman/web/static/; } location / { include uwsgi_params; uwsgi_pass 172.19.199.3:8000; uwsgi_read_timeout 300; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr; } } However when I go to http://sitename.com (obviously using an alias here for privacy reasons) I get the default nginx index page. Do I need to add anything to the main nginx.conf file to be able to see my mailman3 installation? Thank you for any assistance, Brian Carpenter

mm3mod: command line moderation tool

Because we're not running postorius, and the moderate-by-mail change is not available in the older version of mailman3 we're running, I needed a tool to moderate lists from the command line. I found mailman-tools, but wasn't able to get them working with python3, so I started from scratch. Maybe someone else will find it useful https://git.tethera.net/mm3mod.git/about/ It's a work in progress, but I am running the version from that repo in production. Like any program using the REST interface, in principle this has complete administrator access to your mailman site, so you need to to trust both this code and the users you let run it. I do run it in "kiosk mode" via ssh command="/home/listmod/.local/bin/mm3mod" ssh-rsa blahblah in .ssh/authorized_keys. This is more of a keeping-honest-people-honest kind of thing.
