Unable to download attachments from HyperKitty

I’m having an issue downloading attachments from HyperKitty. The download begins as expected, but never progresses. Eventually it times out. I imagine the browser is expecting data matching the content-length header, but never receives it. My configs are based on mailman-suite and maxking/docker-mailman. I've tried stripping out all the performance tweaks from my uwsgi and nginx configs, but no change. Versions: HyperKitty 1.2.1 Postorius 1.2.3 Django 2.1.7 nginx 1.14.1 uwsgi 2.0.18 Python 3.7.2 Has anyone come across this before? Derek Lambert

The basic idea is to handle the "anyone in that group" case by mass subscribing and setting the subscription to no-mail. Obviously, this is most practical with a fairly static membership (eg, students at a school). A fluid membership (for example, a volunteer organization) would be made easier to manage with a "member adapter" to an external database to handle the "do I know this person" questions. ("Member adapter" is Mailman 2 terminology, I don't know if it's exactly the same in Mailman 3; it does or *should* exist in Mailman 3, though.) It's possible that we could make this easier to configure with some changes to core. That worked OK for me, since it's a small list, but that made me wonder if there was a way to select, say, 100 users out of Users and subscribe them all to a list. billo

The faster access after first time is probably due to local caching of DNS entries. Try checking your DNS servers for the domains and how long they take to respond. Your browser is probably just waiting more for DNS response. I don't think this would help the issue. What I am seeing here is users signing up through Postorius using the sign up option which then creates an account in Django (but not Mailman). Yesterday alone I had over 700 of these accounts created. I don't know whether they pass email confirmation or not (I don't see this in Django admin), however they don't get added as users in Mailman and they don't attempt to subscribe to any list. >It may be possible to do something automatic, but you need to explain how you know these users are "fake", and it has to be something that can easily be detected with a few lines of Python.
