I have 2 more digest questions, which I'm hoping to get insight on: 1) Is there a way to trigger a digest for a user (for testing purposes)? Specifically, is there a function that can be revealed via the REST api to an interface like Postorius and Affinity? 2) I have customized list:member:digest:header, but am not seeing the custom text where I thought it should be. The documentation seems to imply that both list:member:digest:header and list:member:digest:footer surround each message in the digest, with the digest starting with list:member:digest:masthead. What I'm seeing is list:member:digest:masthead, which is followed by list:member:digest:header, then the TOC, then all the digest entries. Thanks. Jay

All, This disconnect between Mailman Core and Django and Postorius is, by far, the weakest and, for subscribers, most confusing aspect of MM3 (once it has been installed, which is extremely hard and confusing). In a true account-centric system, you set up a web account and from there manage your emails and, for each email, your subscriptions. Subscription options would be hierarchical: account/email/list, with lower levels inheriting/overriding settings from/the level above. That’s really what I had expected when I pushed for us to move our 50 email lists to MM3 and I was very excited about the prospect, as it would solve a lot of system/subscriber management issues I had managing MM2. Alas, I was very surprised that that’s not how MM3 works. Some things got harder, even, such as the inability to change subscription addresses, which should have been a showstopper from the start! I still hope that MMxx OOTB will get there, but I guess it’ll be along haul. Would we be talking about MM4 to be released 20 years from now? Some dedicated and skilled developers are currently investing heavily in a replacement for Postorius, but I really believe that any work is better spent transforming Mailman Core etc. into a true account-based system. Then, and only then, will it make sense to build new and better interfaces on top, as, without a healthy core, such interface will currently may have to inherit the confusion and disconnect that currently is so aggravating. The above is not meant to aggravate the MM3 development team, for which I have utmost respect and gratitude, and which I admire for their tireless support given over decades to the community of admins. Software development is devilishly hard and time consuming. Global ban using regex

Using some regex testers and generators like https://regex101.com and https://www.site24x7.com/tools/regex-parser.html, the regex (.*)(a)inker\.azerbaijan\.su seems to match EVERYTHING(a)inker.azerbaijan.su (EVERYTHING is constantly changing in current spam mails). However, entering the regex to the Global Ban Add ban /postorius/bans/ result in: `An error occurred: Invalid Parameter "email": Expected a valid email address or regular expression, got (.*)(a)inker\.azerbaijan\.su.'` Same result when using [Ban list] in postorius/lists/[LISTNAME]/bans/. Entering a none regex addresses like eknejfj(a)inker.azerbaijan.su works fine. Does Mailman use a different regex syntax I am using GNU Mailman 3.3.4 (Tom Sawyer) and Mailman Core Python Version 3.8.10 (default, May 6 2021, 06:30:44) [GCC 9.3.0] (maxking/mailman-core:0.3 and maxking/mailman-web:0.3)

For example, on this list $domain is `mailman3.org`, but the base URL for Postorius is `https://lists.mailman3.org/mailman3` and `https://mailman3.org/mailman3` doesn't work. Mailman3 throws 500 error (unicode encode) when loading held messages in Postorius

Hi, I have been working through other threads that indicate the same symptom (500 error when loading held_messages for a list). These include potential truncation of values in pendedkeyvalue table (don't this is our problem) and error when trying to access a message in /var/lib/mailman3/messages (ran the suggested code to loop through the stored files but no error was thrown.)
