Sanity check of upgrade procedure

The other day Abhilash posted here that updated releases are available. I rarely upgrade my Mailman3 server running in a venv on Debian 11. But when I have there was previously an issue with mistune, requiring commands like this (run as mailman in a venv): pip install -U mailman postorius django-mailman3 hyperkitty mailman-web uwsgi pip install wheel mailman pymysql mysqlclient pip install mistune==2.0.0rc1 mailman-web migrate mailman-web compress mailman-web collectstatic mailman-web compilemessages For these new releases, is that mistune step still needed? I just did another test with our production system in AWS. It took about 70 seconds for Postorius to respond with the page stating "The selected messages were accepted". I did notice that the message that was held was released and delivered in a quarter of that time; about 15 seconds. I use a test list with a few of my own email accounts subscribed to it.

Extracting mailing list users

Hi, I would like to export users of my mailing lists including their full name (if present). The export button in Postorius creates a CSV with addresses only, and the tool bin/list_members mentioned in the [Mailman 2 FAQ] does not seem to be available in Mailman 3. I have full access to the server/database, so scraping the web interface with [Mark's script] seems unneccessary. Is there an SQL statement (or an equivalent of bin/list_members) to extract the data? Hello Steve, I really would appreciate to get some help on the withlist command. I really like to program python, but this interface is not at all intuitive. I also find it strange to do administrative tasks in a programming language. In this special case, I believe it should be possible to work on the display names in Postorius in the member settings.

Must every Moderator/Admin be member of a list to be able to use Postorius?

we're using debian/devuan with distribution-mailman3 and tried to add admin/mod for a list, but if logging in as this user, there's no item to manage the list at all. do we have to add this user as member of this list? (that wouldn't be nice, because the user doesn't want to get normal Mails from List, but only admin-Mails) regards omf

Thanks - may be on to something. The sources tab shows everything ok except for /mailman3/static/postorius/js/script.js for which it says "Unable to fetch script source" However the network tab shows it successfully retrieving it. /var/lib/mailman3/web/static/postorius/js/script.js exists and contains only comments

I figured it out. I thought everything was magic done by bootstrap. Instead, it's due to postorius navbar special tags. i.e. I had to change the list_nav tag at the top of the templates. Now I can have lots of fun. :)

Apache shows No Lists

Running Debian 11. I have 6 mailing lists, but Apache2 says there are no lists. I have not been able to set up Postorius because nowhere is any information on *where* the configuration file is supposed to be located. I have found an example in /usr/share/doc/python3-django-hyperkitty/examples/settings.py But I don't know if this example is the right one, and I have no idea where the final file should go...
