Hello, I've been working on setting up Mailman3 on a RHEL 7.5 vm using the guides and documentation found here: http://docs.mailman3.org/en/latest/index.html https://mailman.readthedocs.io/en/latest/README.html http://docs.mailman3.org/projects/postorius/en/latest/index.html http://docs.mailman3.org/projects/mailmanclient/en/latest/README.html https://hyperkitty.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman-hyperkitty nginx is serving the Django applications via uwsgi. I was able to get mailman, postorius + hyperkitty, running and test sending out email verifications. In an attempt to set the default domain to something other than example.com I deleted the site: example.com, I did have another site. Unfortunately, this seems to have broken the Django applications. At the moment I am preparing to delete the virtual environment and set things up again. Unless there is something that can be done in the current virtual environment to "reset" things back to start. I was also running into an issue where the verification emails were successfully sent out. The url to verify the email looks like this: http://my.domain.com:8000/accounts/confirm-email/xxxxxxxxxxxx/ Replacing my.domain.com with the domain I added. How can I get the outgoing verification emails to not reference port 8000? If I take that same link and remove the port, I get the desired page. Port 8000 is blocked at our sites permitter firewall, I don't necessarily want to open it. I'd rather the URL just obfuscate the port and send it to https... The addresses are defined in Django settings if I'm not mistaken. And callout isn't evil. Moderation in MM 3 works as follows: Is poster address a member. If so apply the member's moderation action, else Does poster address appear or match a pattern in the legacy (accept|hold|reject|discard)_these_nonmembers (first match in that order). This is the way MM 3 works. The only reason *_these_nonmembers exists in MM 3 is to support the legacy regexps from MM 2.1. For non-regexp addresses the address is a nonmember with the appropriate moderation action. I actually find this convenient. When a nonmember posts spam to a list and that spam is held, I discard the spam in Postorius and at the same time set the nonmember's moderation action to discard so I never see any more from that address. Yes, I did: [mta] incoming: mailman.mta.postfix.LMTP outgoing: mailman.mta.deliver.deliver lmtp_host: newlistserv.aaas.org lmtp_port: 8024 smtp_host: newlistserv.aaas.org smtp_port: 25 configuration: python:mailman.config.postfix # postconf recipient_delimiter recipient_delimiter = + # postconf owner_request_special owner_request_special = no in main.cf: local_recipient_maps = hash:/opt/mailman/var/data/postfix_lmtp transport_maps = hash:/opt/mailman/var/data/postfix_lmtp virtual_alias_maps = hash:/opt/mailman/var/data/postfix_vmap Bur for some reason the postfix_lmtp.db is older than postfix_lmtp, which means it does not get updated automated, I guess. I restarted the whole stack and added a new list. In postfix logs I see: Apr 17 18:20:28 mailmandev01 postfix/smtpd[31399]: error: open database /opt/mailman/var/data/postfix_domains.db: No such file or directory Apr 17 18:20:28 mailmandev01 postfix/smtpd[31399]: error: open database /opt/mailman/var/data/postfix_vmap.db: No such file or directory I touched the /opt/mailman/var/data/postfix_vmap, but it did not help neither. In addition, I found out this : On my old mailman2 I have a setting in postfix main.cf: alias_maps = dbm:/usr/local/mailman/data/aliases the file /usr/local/mailman/data/aliases says in its first line: # This file is generated by Mailman, and is kept in sync with the # binary hash file aliases.db. YOU SHOULD NOT MANUALLY EDIT THIS FILE This makes a lot of sense to me. The point is I am missing any similar settings on postfix on mailman3. Maybe local_recipient_maps do that, but as I mentioned the DB file is older than the text file. The result is that the list (which is actually a postfix user) is unknown to postfix completely. Now what is missing here? It appears that postorius can talk to postfix to send welcome messages out, but Postfix is not aware about the User that Postorius has created and exists in SQLite DB. So rejects any email addressed to that one. Thanks a lot! After further consideration, I will stay with the defaults, e.g. have accounts, archive etc at the same level as mailman3. Can't Start Mailman3 Core on Fresh Install
