We're not talking bleeding edge here (although the server that supports this list and the python.org lists is bleeding edge). We are talking about installing the current releases from PyPI. Mailman 3 is still relatively young and there are many important features and fixes in the current releases that aren't in the Debian/Ubuntu packages.
