The message is queued at
var/archives/hyperkitty/spool/. The files in that directory are Python pickles. You can examine them with themailman qfilecommand and delete the spam ones.
Looking at the offending message with 'mailman qfile', it appears it is a legitimate one actually, sent from an Android phone.
Couldn't hyperkitty be a bit less strict?
