This is Django's log. Django knows nothing about mailman.cfg which is for core only. You can set the path in your Django settings. See LOGGING['handlers']['file']['filename']
I deal with this by creating a symlink like
/usr/local/mailman/logs -> /usr/local/mailman/var/logs
Wuah. I did not even think about a simple symlink.
