Evidently you haven't understood how I propose to address the issue. My answer to each of your suite of questions is, "it doesn't matter because I'll ask the member what to do when the time comes."
This approach is
- explicit,
- effective in addressing the original issue,
- almost no burden on users,
- little burden on administrators, and
- no burden on Mailman developers for analyzing scenarios.
Are you tired of all the winning yet? ;-)
If somebody wants more automation, patch for optional automation welcome. Or they can pay for Harmony.
